Hi there - I just finished an instructable for a small 5x8 matrix I built to hook onto my backpack for the burn. Aside from making my pack unique, it helped campmates find/follow me while we were out. I starting with NoisePlusPalette and added in a button and pot for mode selection and brightness adjustment. The lights are (heavily) diffused by a couple layers of fabric and craft foam.
