Hi there,
I’m trying the MirroringSample.ino with a nodeMCU0.9 and it seems not possible to compile and load a sketch for eight 60 pix ledstrips. The code refuse to compile for Digital Output D1 to D8.
The native code uses 4 DO and works fine. Six or Seven ledstrips connected to the DO seems good yet. Would’ nt it possible to use more Digital Output with FastLED ? I really need 8. Any tips would be appreciated.
Here’s my previous work : https://youtu.be/KKxmautzwHY
The library currently doesn’t support more outputs - I have to rewrite how some of that is done. You might be able to play games with using parallel output for four strips, then addLeds for the remaining pins.
Alternatively you could use something like a teensy which doesn’t have the flash/code size limitation that the eap8266 here is running into.
That looks amazing! Would you be able the share the code for that one?
Derrick, your previous work is quite beautiful.
@Derrick_Giscloux - Spectacular! I love LEDs doing sinewaves.
@Daniel_Garcia Thx for your answer Daniel. My next project will involve around one hundred object and the idea is not to have parallel patterns. Also Teensy is not a good option about costs. What a pity FL can’t goes over 6 outputs. I achieve to get seven today, dont know why this chance. Is the “rewrite how some of that is done” is in your plans? What do you need for that?
It is in my plans - I have spent the past year not doing much work on the library because of a really close death in my family. I’m now in the middle of moving, but might start up working on the library again early next year.
Mmm … I understand. I know that. Such an experience can indeed cause life troubles.
Please keep me informed about that fantastic work you do on the lib. My email is derrickgiscloux@gmail.com
Best regards.
@marmil Thx Marc
@Ken_White Hey! thx Ken, indeed
ups. Beautiful. Intense.
