Hi there,
thank you all for the valuable advice about my heated bed in the previous post; unfortunately I didn’t solve my problem, so I’m trying to solve it again working on the root of the problem; I have a aluminum heated bed too, adn I decided to mount it in replace of other one; and here is the questions :

  • does ABS stick well on aluminum, or may be do I encounter the same problem? I think hte aluminum surface will be easily more hot than using the old one, but I don’t know if a simple increase of temperature does solve my problem
  • I can’t figure out how and where I can mount the thermystor; the only thing I can think is to put it on the aluminum face, but obviously on the edge of the plate; will it be enough?

many thanks

@Thomas_Sanladerer has a guide for that - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp7ubpbaw-Q

well done!, thanks!

On smooth, and typically non-sticky surfaces like aluminium or glass I have experienced that hairspray or 3DLac (basically the same as hairspray, just without scents and parfume) performs really well with ABS.

Drill a hole for the thermistor in the middle. Then cement it in or glue it in with silicone rubber

Edit: oh ups thats a alupcb sry. Either there is a hole or pads fora smd thermistor

Just wrap some tape around the edges of it to create a raised edge, then pour some epoxy well mixed with a coarse enough filler for abs to stick to and allow it to self level. There are high temperature epoxies, just Google it.

1/8th | 3.175mm should be enough to cover the thermistor and really give a level surface regardless of plate imperfections.

Use a filler that looks like this under the microscope - http://www.epoxyproducts.com/zez.jpg The hooks will create a surface that will grip the print.

They sell some filler here, or take a microscope to a marine store and look at the stuff (they cost <$20 for a pocket scope) - http://www.epoxyproducts.com/f_mixin.html

Don’t breath in the dust particles, that should be quite obvious from the photos.
