Hi there. This it’s our first 3dPrinter review and i would like to hear your opinion on where we can do better/what you want to read in future reviews.
Video of the Printer is following soon.
Also, do you like/have used the Zortrax already? What’s your impression?

Our big Zortrax review is coming tomorrow #teaser#3dprinting powered by iGo3D
If I were to have to buy a printer right now, I’d choose the zortrax over ultimaker 2 based on what I’ve seen. The results I’ve seen from them Zortrax surpass the (much smaller) UP! Plus 2 which used to be my favourite…
Ok, I’ve read the review. What is there is fine but there is so much not there that I would expect to be for an in depth review.
For instance:
You don’t talk about the mechanics of the printer at all - eg, it uses Ultimaker style xy but uses 2 cross beams per axis as opposed to 1 like the Ultimaker. It has a direct drive carriage mounted extruder rather than Bowden tube - which should improve retraction performance over a bowden but limit top speeds due to greater moving mass This is most likely why they have added the extra shafts.
The test model you use isn’t exactly a tough one to print - no over hangs, no tricky small bits etc. The Make torture test model would have been much more appropriate.
With no overhangs, you also didn’t get to test (or even mention) support generation and removal - this is a big thing with the Zortrax as the snap away supports are supposed to be very good (from what I hear).
What about multi object printing? The model you tested with barely required any retracts I imagine.
What about the policy for only using their own filament if you don’t want to void support warranty (I think this is still true)
What about their special pricing on filament if you have bought an M200?
What about print speeds and how they effect print quality.
Etc etc. I’m sorry this sounds critical but you asked for opinions. Happy to talk about it more in a hangout or whatever.
No worries @Nils_Hitze know you know your stuff so I figured you’d only had a cursory involvement :). If you want the next one critiqued before being released into the wild, I’m happy to help.
