what is the recommended micro-controller to control around 3500 LED’s (WS2811 or WS2812B) and all powered portably?
What will be the approximate power consumpti0on come down to ?
Actually I am trying to make an led cover with full of animations for an electric unicycle, but not able to figure out which way to go, can anyone help me with that?
Teensy 3.2 w/8 way parallel output. It takes 30us to write one LED’s worth of data would be over 100ms to do a single frame - but only 13 with the parallel output.
For power each led draws 1mA when dark - so you will be drawing 3.5A without turning anything on. How much draw you pull from there depends on how bright and what colors you use. Full white is likely to be about 60mA per led - so at full brightness all the LED’s full white you are looking at 200amps - so I’m pretty sure you won’t be doing that
