Hi, this might be simple but I haven’t found anything online. My Printer moves on the z axis perfectly when control manually on the repetier control panel, but when I print the z axis refuses to move while the extruder and other axis are fine. I suspects overhearing drivers but if I lower any of the pots there’s not enough torque. What should I do?
How hot are they getting? Could it be your powersupply is not upt to the task?
A 6a psu is the minimum you should run for a 12v setup. I have been running one for two years not with no issues but going under that is asking for trouble. Swap one of your drivers with the z one and report back. I think it’s a current issue
I don’t think so, I have a 20 amp power supply (according to the label) but the drivers do get pretty hot, I’ll switch them around
Is it 12v at 20a? What is the total watts that it puts out? If your drivers are really hot, too hot to the touch, they are too hot. You really need a multimeter to set them correctly.
I have a multimeter and set them to 9.4k/10, just enough to supply the necessary torque. The power supply can actually supply 12v 30a. Heat sinks? Less printer friction?
@Adam_Potter Check out this video on setting the current. https://youtu.be/PEjxqWZcQvk
You should be adjusting current, nor ohms…
It calibrates and homes fine and I just adjusted the drivers so each has just enough to move. Could it be software?
