Hi, when I use the Statistics which is part of the Skeinforge Settings,

Hi, when I use the Statistics which is part of the Skeinforge Settings, and then export the Text Document, it always shows 0.0 $ in the Material Cost, how do I fix it? Thank you.

Skeinforge is pretty dead by now, most users have migrated to Slic3r, Cura, Kisslicer or Simplify3D.
Does the gcode SF produces print at all?
If I had to guess what the problem was, I’d say you don’t have the dimension plugin enabled.

Hi Thomas, thank you, I also use Slic3r and, sometimes, Cura to find parts that overhang. I think Slic3r can not be used to calculate the cost of electricity and materials.

At first I used Skeinforge to print, including Gcode from SF.

@Thomas_Sanladerer No need to be rude. Skeinforge works fine, and many people use it because it has more options and modules than the other slicers, by a wide margin, and once you’ve mastered its complexity, you can get amazing control over your prints. And no other slicer gives you the info that the statistics module gives you.

@henri_suprapto
To answer the question, the info is generated by the statistics module. It’s documented at http://fabmetheus.crsndoo.com/wiki/index.php/Skeinforge_Statistic . If the Material (cost/kg) and the cost (Machine time/hour) are set to $0, then the print costs will come out zero. They default to $20/kg and $1/hr, but perhaps they’re set to $0 somewhere?

@Laird_Popkin sorry, didn’t realize i came over as rude. Certainly didn’t mean to.
I do realize that SF still has some followers, but there is zero development going on (hence “dead”) and some features are in a semi-broken or counter-intuitive state. I’ve personally held on to SF for way longer than most other users but ended up switching to Slic3r when i ran into some stls which would have SF choking no matter which python env i was using. Slic3r also prints the volume of plastic used into the end of every gcode, and your host (or http://gcode.ws) can easily tell you all the other statistics that SF generates.
If you look at the other statistics in the screenshots provided, it also says that the length and volume extruded is 0, so that’s why i’m thinking it’s dimension.

Ah , I didn’t see the other screen shot. That is odd. Does the gcode print properly, I wonder…

I do not consider it rude, I did not understand english very well, but I am glad a quick response from you all, and I thank you with it.

@Thomas_Sanladerer The image attachments I use with 10x10x10cm box, and previously I was using different different dimensions and are typically smaller, I think that with a dimensions larger then the result will be different, it still 0.

@Laird_Popkin Yes, Gcode it works fine, and I use Slic3r.

Long story short, I have downloaded the file Gcode from this address: http://forums.reprap.org/file.php?12, file = 565, the material cost becomes $ 0.1, I am surprised why be like that! I feel that the problem lies in the Gcode file, as you all say, but I do not know how to fix this …

Very odd. I suspect that @Thomas_Sanladerer is right that there’s something going on with the Dimension module.
