Highly impressed with the Re-Arm and Smoothie. 100mm/s base speed and not missing a beat. Printing in Extrudr PETG at 215°c. For those interested in what’s actually printing, it’s the carriages for the AX-02
They’re 8825s on XY, running at around 0.7v off 24v, at 1/32 stepping. It’s a mix of the Drivers and the motors, they’re old Busheng steppers off of a Migbot. Can’t get it much quieter with this setup, the printer room is upstairs so it’s not too much of an issue. I’m reckoning it’ll hit 150mm/s without skipping, though
Very awesome cannot wait to get my Re-Arm installed and running.
@Jeremiah_Coley - so worth it. Accuracy & speed is so much better running Smoothie.
Did you switch the 8825s over to fast decay mode yet?
Not yet, Ryan. I’m always scared with super-fine soldering.
If I were you, I’d pick up a set of 6128s or 5984s from Panucatt if you can spare the $50-60 or whatever they cost, you won’t regret it.
It’s planned… Especially for the AX-02, as the 8825’s whine like a dog missing it’s owner…
I love my smoothie, cant go wrong at all.
