Hmm…using IDE 1.6.6 I have installed 3.1 but whenever I compile anything that requires 3.1.1 it fails saying the version is too old?
I have confirmed that the only version is installed in my arduino/library folder under documents… whats the deal? even the library manager says 3.1.1 is installed… odd… FASTLED.H shows “FASTLED_VERSION 3001001”
I know its a newb question, and I normally have no trouble with libraries…and it was previously working… I guess I’m just curious if there was something I missed or if something had changed.I’m actually embarrassed to have had to post that…
I’m going to update my IDE… I use a few machines and this one seems to have the oldest IDE version… perhaps that’s causing my issue…
Yeah - there was a bug introduced in the early 1.6.x versions of the IDE that broke the ability to do that kind of version checking cleanly. You can also remove that check from the .ino file that you’re trying to compile if you get a complaint about it.
Yep, I upped to 1.6.9 and everything is working now… Thanks for the input… I knew I wasn’t losing my mind… I cant believe I even asked for help on that one… I just became so frustrated with it.
