How much does a 3D printer cost.

How much does a 3D printer cost.

Depends what kind

Can range from 200 to 2000 dollars, maybe more

I’m looking for cheap 3D printer.

I think 500, though not sure what kind it ks

My smartrap cost about 220€ but I had a LOT of offers

Most Printrbots are pretty cheap, but vely good. Simple makers kit is $350 and Simple Metal is $500: http://printrbot.com

Oh I didn’t know thatbsorry

@Ivan_Martinez , please assign a number and currency to ‘cheap’.

200 U.S. dollars

Not enough. You need at least $500 to get going.

Cheapest trustworthy printer is the PrintrBot Simple Maker at ~$350, but you’ll need to build it.

There are kits less than that available, but I’d have my doubt’s about anything much cheaper.

$200 is definitely not going to happen though, that’s for sure.

You can always recycle some components, like motors, rods, the glass…

@Tom_Nardi Add to that shipping, taxes, tools and filament, and you are very close to $500.

are you willing to build one, you can go with a kit about 300-350 EUR so about 350 to 400 USD.
Printrbot Kit or prusa i3 kit would be my choice in that price range.
For about 1000 EUR you will get a bigger one like Ultimaker Original with headbed or the printrbot Metal plus which is also very good.

So you will need to decide for a size and what you ant to do with it. If you need a bigger or a smaller is fine for you.
Just have in mind that you will need some filament too and you will like to spend 100 USD or so for it to have may 4 colors or 4 materials to test and try. It’s not like out paper and ink in it and print a word doc. You will waste a lot of material with failprints design failures etc.

xyz 3d printer 399 on up

@Ivan_Martinez
You can rent one for that. Depending on how many times you use it. Or you and two other people could go in on a Printrbot Metal Simple (http://printrbot.com/shop/assembled-simple-metal/) for $600. But you won’t get something that can usefully print for less than that.

If you build it yourself you can trade some of your time for money, builds take anywhere from 10 to 80 hours. You can buy a kit of printed out plastic parts for a Prusa I3 (http://reprap.org/wiki/Prusa_i3_Buyers_Guide) for anywhere from $250 - $600. Assuming you’ve got a set of tools for building things it can be an instructional way to go.

I don’t mind having to build it.

Built my Smartrap like @Javier_Prieto for $250. It works fine. You just have to shop around for components.

I really want to get one
