How thick is the lpd8806 led strip without protective sleeve? I need to know because I need to route some channels in mdf for my led table and still not received the led strip from China…
I couldn’t wait and routed 3mm deep channels for the led strip I hope it is deep enough…
The strips I have measured for routing are between 1.45-2.2 mm thick at the highest point. (Without the silicone tube or epoxy coating).

I’m measuring 2.13mm from the bottom of the flex strip to the top of the LED, and 2.23mm from the bottom of the flex strip to the top of the LPD8806 driver itself. So yeah, at 3mm, you’ve got plenty of room still. Even the molded ones, I’m measuring 3.01mm to 3.11mm, so you’re not that far off.
