Pretty interesting discourse on OpenSource Licensing and what is legally needed and what is ethical

Terawatt failed the test obviously

Would be interested in your opinion.

Its not only the lack of Terawatt’s consideration on others effort but you also his engagement in bullying tactics… See posts from the 20/03/2013.

Nice find @Paulo_Geraldes …jesus christ these guys are scumbags.

Not sure what to make of it, they may lack some necersarry PR skils.

“Terawatt Industries”…does anyone else think “power company” when they read that?

Wow! @Terawatt_Industries , forget it.

To the RepRap people, if you notice a license violation of Cura, CuraEngine, OctoPrint, Marlin. Let me know. I have access to proper resources at Ultimaker to act on it.

@ThantiK @Hans_Franke he still keeps going and going…why and what for, when he could just put his hands up, apologise, thank, reference and all this mess would blow away. I wonder if he has ny apreciation that he is standing on someone’s shoulders.
@NathanielStenzel no power company. I have a feeling that this is a one man op.

@Daid_Braam what would you do in such a situation? What resource would you deploy?

On a lighter note what is your cat doing in the internet?

And he is still going… This time on his blog…

@Nils_Hitze just shared.
Funny thing is his earlier entry he loves Octoprint…

Oh man…

Now I officially agree, he’s just a morron … err, poor victim of OSS Bullies:

“Then the sharing police got called in. The mob mentality took over. Gangs of police performed drive-bys.”
(from above blog)

Well, you guys did sort of “full force” attack him, maybe forcing him in a corner. Not that his responses where really smart. After all, should have been an easy fix.

Anyhow, I talked a bit in private with Gina. And I think we’ve spend more then enough time on this. Back to more constructive things!
And, if you spot a potential violation of GPL. Please, please, contact the owner of the GPL source first and let him/her handle it. These public discussions usually run out of hand really quick, and are no good for anyone really.

I’ve had some CuraEngine “notifications” from people, which are handled out of sight of the public. People do not need to be shamed in public for a minor mistake. (Except maybe http://3dprinter4u.nl, which, next to the most cheesy URL ever, offered Cura for download on their site, but quickly removed it when we asked for attribution)
