Using a little FastLED and TM1809 LEDS gets me around 3fps with 900 of the buggers!

Nice! You’ve beaten my personal best by about 300 pixels :-). What was your max power draw in the end, and how did you arrange your power bus?
Havent looked at the power draw yet but its pretty low I think; it runs off one 5v supply. These LEDS are apparently 12v but when I attempted to run them at 12v the draw went really high so I got scared! In the end I organised 150 LEDS into a block and had 6 blocks, each with their own power and data line. I think this would be brighter at 12v but not by much and the whole thing would have been more complicated.
