I am a new person to 3d printing. I’m only 11, but it is now kind of my job so soon i might need help and i have a monoprice select mini v2. I would appritiate it if everyone can welcome me with open arms!
Also the tak on my print bed is peeling up when it gets hot so i ordered some buildtak and im going to replace it soon. Please let me know if there is a way i can fix the peeling up so i wont have to change it.
@Spark_356 I hope you are aware of the fact, that this could get you into trouble. If you want to sell Pokémon, Disney-stuff etc. you need a license. If you didn’t make the models yourself but only downloaded them, you are probably violating even more licenses by selling them.
@Stephanie_A oh, is that so? I didn’t even enlarge the pictures and still recognized the Pokemon at first glance.
I just did a quick research and it seems as if Disney had several Star Wars models (including some low-poly models) taken down from thingiverse last year. (source: https://all3dp.com/disney-pulls-star-wars-models-from-thingiverse/ )
@Spark_356 I really hope you are not talking about your grandmother’s drivers license here…
EDIT: renaming doesn’t change a thing. These are original characters from the Pokémon Company and everyone instantly recognizes that. I don’t know exactly in what country you are selling them, but in the US and in most of Europe you wouldn’t stand a chance in court, if it came to the worst case.
EDIT2: don’t get me wrong, I’m not telling you to stop doing whatever you do, but I really hope you are aware of the consequences that can derive from your actions.
@Reinhard_Barmonster yes i am, and thanks for letting me know that i just cant change the file. Also not my grandmothers drivers license, she has a license for selling
wow…she really has a license from the Pokémon Company to produce and sell their original characters? In that case I take back everything I said…but still I highly doubt that is true…
I think he means a general sales license from the city so she can run it as a small business. Please correct me if I am wrong young man. And welcome, please feel free to ask questions if you need help, generally we are a nice bunch of people.
Thanks@funinthefalls it is just a general sales license, i was a little confused when you started talking about permision from poki’ mon go. (By the thanks in the begining, it is for the welcoming part.)
ahh ok…but such a license doesn’t allow you to make and sell anything you want. Pokémon are original characters and thus are IP (intelectual property) and protected by copyright laws. Even if you don’t call them Pokémon, everybody can clearly see what they are. What you are doing is literally criminal. Just keep that in mind, when selling stuff like this in public. There probably won’t be anybody to sue you, but the possibility still exists.
