I am a Star Wars fan and in honor of the release of Rogue One I thought I should make Han Solo’s Blaster from the many examples on Thingiverse.
Nah, not this. No metal
I am a scale model builder…but for this it’s for a friend who is more a fan than I am.
Samer, this looks great! My sons are begging me to print one. Very well done!
Shall I send you this one? My suggestion is that you cut the top in half and print in PLA. The rest is ABS. If you want it, it’s yours. Send me an address.
@Samer_Najia thatd be great! 3dp@http://laserwelddesign.com
No Heath, I meant the physical thing. You have my email, send me your address and I will ship it to you Tuesday.
Wow! Awesome!
You have to paint it though. And, fill in the gaps. I use Squadron putty for my scale models
I build scale armor and for weathering I would paint all black, then dip a brush that has its bristles cut in silver and let it dry a little, then run it over the high spots to simulate wear. The grip parts have to be painted dark brown. Putty fills in the gaps due to shrinkage which can be wet sanded with Emory sticks and a coat of XTC3D before painting gives you a nice surface. Add an LED and some effects in the handle and voila.
@Heath_Harper were you gonna Email a mailing address?
@Samer_Najia done. Thanks again!
Amazing job! Well done
Hi @Samer_Najia which specific model was this on Thingiverse?
@Jon_Gritton it is this one http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1503525. However I cut the top part in half to make it print easier.
