I am considering starting to print with PLA on my Prusa i3. I’m using the Greg’s Wade’s Extruder from the repo with a J-head hotend. Any recommendations on fan mount for cooling the barrel?

The one from mendel90 is good and should be easy to port.

Any circular duct will be good, if it has a separate duct for j-head cooling. You don’t need to cool it much - as nophead points out in his notes (to the mentioned above and quite good mendel90 fan duct) PEEK’s mainly heated by convection, and as soon as you disrupt the flow of hot air from the heater you should be good. I use http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:217352, but it’s not great - need to cool the print in a circular manner, it becomes important as speed and accuracy grow.

I’ve never put a fan through the barrel, if its an official J-Head or well machined built-to-spec copy you might be good without it!

I never used a fan on the barrel, but now that I think about I I wish I did… Would have prevented many jams towards the end of my jheads life, and many hours if stress and unclogging efforts.

I say modify the e3d design to fit.
