I am getting close on my rebuild after the PLA Motion Parts meltdown. I am finally implementing the dual extrusion but I am hitting a wall. Anyone good at Marlin Firmware willing to help. I cannot get it to compile and I am sure I am missing stuff.
I have an Azteeg X3. Viki LCD. Dual direct Drive Extruders. E0 filiment cooling on D16, E1 filiment cooling on D17. E3d Extruder heatsink cooling fans hooked up direct to 24V main. My extruder offset is 46mm in the x direction.
Thank you to anyone who can help me out. I have always struggled with the firmware settings. I am sure I have other items in my firmware wrong… but don’t know enough to know that it is borked.
On a side note I have never been able to get my on board SD card reader (on the Azteeg main board) or the SD card reader on the Viki to work. I am not sure if it’s my settings, or a bad board.
@Tim_Rastall I did try using the repetier web based configure tool. LCD wasn’t working and fans were on that shouldn’t have been. So I figure something was wrong.
Here is the Repetier Firmware I generated from the web config tool. For some reason the VIKI LCD isn’t displaying anything but solid blocks, and the filiment cooling fan for extruder 2 is always on (currently connected to D17).
I know this is not easy stuff, but I could really use some help. Much like @Tim_Rastall I am a hardware and mechanical guy. Code makes my eyes a little buggy. If there is a better place to ask this question I am all ears. Some IRC Channel? A specific forum?
Thanks for any help people can provide. I really want to get this dual extruder up and running.
Well its running. Kept Marlin and made some changes in pin.h and it compiled. Not sure what fixed it. Just glad it’s going again. Now to recalibrate and learn about multiple extruders.
@Eclsnowman , I don’t think the digital output will be able to handle a current draw from all those leds unless it has a FET in the circuit. You can probably tie it to a fan circuit if you have an extra, or just tie it to your hotend fan 12vdc line
