I am happy to relate that the SD3 conversion is now largely complete. The printer sets and holds temperature on the bed and hot end reliably, moves and homes reliably, is totally controllable from the LCD Controller as well as Repetier. Yes, it’s a rat’s maze in the back and that’s a 12V, 30A PSU, and if I use a laser, will need a separate power supply. I am using 4 in total: 1 for the printer, one for the LED strip, 1 for the DIY PC Monitor and one for the Stick PC. Door is Polycarbonate. I have a pair of mounts printing for the monitor and once done this baby is ready for action. I will clean up the wiring later. What do you think? Who wants some?
I love the LCD controller enclosure!!
Got it from Thingiverse and modified it. Gotta post a ‘I Made It’
Next up, the same conversion/retrofit to a Delta (trying to decide on whether I am going mini Kossel or Full Size)
For those interested, I have posted an Instructable on the steps I went through to get this printer operational: http://www.instructables.com/id/Resurrecting-a-Dead-3D-Printer/
