I am having problems with adhesion on a printrbot makers kit. It has the metal bed and I am using tape with pla. Any suggestions?

Blue tape? Rub it down with rubbing alcohol, what temps are you extruding at?

I am using blue tape and I am extruding at 200

I’m assuming the printrbot’s defaults should get you at least started, if not printing fairly well. I’ve had success on Glass with Hairspray (okay, with some lift), glass with Elmers Glue stick (also okay with some lift), and Blue painter’s tape - cleaned with alcohol. It won’t work unless you use the alcohol.

Some PLA works in the 190-200 range, others are happier in the 220-230 range. If it’s oozing out and kinda sliding around without sticking, you might go up in 5 to 10 degree increments and see if that helps.

I use blue tape rubbed down with alcohol as well. It works well as long as I burnish the tape down with something first just to make sure it’s really stuck to the bed.
