I am new to 3d printing and just built a RP9 printer from Bobs CNC.
The build went well but now I am trying to figure out a few things.
1.) How do you set the zero axis locations in Repetier?
2.) I think I have it calibrated and want to do my test print, but when I start the print, the printer tries to go to zero and my Z axis tops out and doesn’t appear to see the stop switch and so it grinds trying to go higher. How can I fix that?
Firstly, run a M119 command to check to see if the endstop on the z is working. It should show TRIGGERED when it is clicked. I’m not 100% sure you can edit the zero location outside of the firmware/epprom though.
i will try that later today. Thank you that is helpful. if the stop is working than it will just head up there and stop. once there should it head down and start the print?
Yes. If it homes z at the top the. That is what it does, but you might need to make changes in your start gcode to account for it. All my printers home at the bottom/have autolevel so they just need an endstop offset command stored in the epprom
