I am new to lasers, I while researching LaserWeb 4, I found it to have a cleanest interface, and most features. Thank you for that.

I have a Eleksmaker 2.5W system.

I am having one problem, when doing a laser cut of vector fonts, the machine “stutters” through the curved lines, moves fine through the straight lines.

Seems to me like a gcode optimization issue, but like I said, I am new to lasers. I do have a fair bit of experience with other hobby type cnc machines (mill, router, and 3d printer).

What tool did you use to produce the vectors. If the paths have lots of small segments you’ll see this behavior quite often. Are you tracing fonts or using a tool like Inkscape to convert them to paths?

I used Inkscape. I played around with the segment setting on LW last night, and was able to reduce the gcode file to 1/3 the size. I didn’t have time to runthe job on the laser, but the preview within LW looks acceptable.
