I am planning my first big LED build — 480 x WS2811 — 8m of 60 LED/m
Anyone got any tips on physical connections etc? Cable is fine — I have some 12v automotive stuff that can carry the 150W easily — but how about connectors etc? Number of points to add additional power along the strips?

Is it a jacket, or matrix or what? The layout might help solidify your options…
It’s one long strip— pretty simple
Just solder them together at the joins. Read the power at various points and stuff additional volts in when the drop is too great. Or… just power it from both ends and, in the Kiwi vernacular, suck it and see!
You’ll definitely get a hefty voltage drop if you wire them in series; the LEDs at the end will not nearly be as bright as the ones at the start. I solved this problem by providing a solid 5v every 3 or 4 feet in on of my projects (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrUyNMMFIEQ)
Thanks all.
How about the “safety” capacitor/s?
