I am sure many of you have been holding your breath waiting to see the progress on my Printrbot Tank remix. Well, here is the latest update. All the track links are done. 28 per side. One side was printed on the CTC and one side was printed on the Printrbot Play (only fitting is it not @Brook_Drumm1 ?). This thing is so burly, it is outgrowing the original chassis. As an aficionado of WW2 AFVs I decided to use an R/C tank controller that gives me several channels…right/left/forward/reverse and turret rotation and elevation plus trigger/fire and lights. 2 Airsoft firing systems as well as the board are on the way along with a pair of metal geared motors. This thing is going to be a monster…I even have my Attacknid Gatling turret wired up and ready. FPV is on the menu for sure.
If I thought I could scale this puppy up, I would 3D Print a version of this to go with my Half Track GoKart in my garage…
Additional update…so I am going to go PLA from now on. The tracks are way more solid (dense). The Printrbot Play prints them nicely, and Cura puts the right supports without them being impossible to remove. Now if only the bed could be made bigger…
