I am using a grbl shield via chilipeppr for my shapeoko2 cnc. The total time for this is way too long. I just need to know if I can turn off my grbl and have chilipeppr resume later.

You can click the pause on chilipeppr. Turn off the spindle and resume later.

Well, I do not have luck with the pause button on the left, so I had to use the stop button on the right.

Grbl shields get real hot, so I did end up unplugging it for the night. I csn resume in 19 hours or so. I hope I can just do ~ to resume after hooking up to it again.

If power is removed the carriages may have lost the original position. If you have limit switches you may home again and return to the exact coordinates you stop the work at (after removing all the gcode already done from you project file) to continue working. If you cannot ensure a good start position there might be a slight offset at the restarting point and on.

I am leaving Chilipeppr open. I have printed the page to a PDF so that I know exactly what was on the screen when I stopped it too. I will leave my laptop on until this project is done.
