I bought 5x nema 17 stepper motors off ebay and their shaft is quite short for my prusa mendel build.
However those motors have extra spacers, anyone know how to remove them? I don’t want to force it and damage a motor.
The bearing is deep down, I give a try to pull.
Thanks.
I forced rotated spacer and that rubber part unglued from base - motor looks fine, rubber was ripped apart.
Thanks.
Looks like a damper.
neat!
Those look pretty short… you sure they have enough torque?
You are right Jonathan, they are 44oz/in - I hope to use them and see they can handle standard prusa mendel requirements.
oh they’ll move the axes fine, but you’ll get overheated motors and skipped steps during print. bin there done that.
@Jonathan_se5a_Sorens , can’t you just slow things down a notch to avoid that?
