I bought a RepRapDiscount Full Graphics controller to run on my Mendel90 ( Marlin / Ramps 1.4 ) However I am unable to see anything clearly on the LCD screen even after I adjusting the contrast pod that on the front right of the controller.
I read somewhere that someone added more power to the Arduino board and that helps ?? Will it be ok to also add power to the Arduino Board aswell ?
What else can I do to get the contrast correct, without soldering etc .
Thanks
I’ve just had the same upgrade to my machine. I’ve routed an additional 5V from the power supply directly to the LCD controller to get a stable display. Another method is having the USB cable connected to a “Strong” USB port. Good luck and enjoy!
There should be a trim pot on the back of the LCD.
@Keith_Applegarth There is a Trim Pot on the front that I tried to adjust. As soon as I turn it to the right it gets worse. I can not turn it left any further as it will break. So basically its sitting at its best. So I am stumped , don’t know what to do.
Also found that I can not print from my PC ( Repetier Host ) anymore , not sure why.
+Peter van der Walt Sorry Peter I am lost. My Trim Pot is on the front and it works but as soon as I turn it , it gets worse. Just becomes totally blue screen.
Thanks +Peter van der Walt , I check tonight. Do you know what resister I must add ?
Does the screen act the same under only usb power? If not the voltage regulator in the arduino could be blown.
