I changed my steps for my Z axis and change the layer to .2

I changed my steps for my Z axis and change the layer to .2 mm. I am getting some fantastic prints now! This is ABS. .5mm nozzle.

Below is a vase from Thingiverse. Printed with 2 perimeters.

Did you change your z-steps to a calculated value based on your thread pitch or somthing different

Yes, that is exactly what I did. I previously set it by measuring and tweaking. I noticed some weird banding lines. Did some reading and just ended up plugging in 4000 (if i remember correctly) for my steps. 5mm thread. Seemed to print perfect after that. I was also reading that your steps should be a multiple of your layer thickness, so I made sure that was the case as well. Fingers crossed, and having fun!

Did the exact same thing a few weeks ago - didn’t think it would make a difference…

Totally makes a difference!

I have the same settings. Everything I have read says that you should use the calculated value also. I would think that setting the value based on measurements would be the way to go to account for manufacturing tolerances, but I have not had luck with this method either.
