I couldn’t have said it better. @Jonathan_Buford1 is back at it again! After ripping thousands of people off with the MakiBox fiasco, he’s somehow obtained funding from some other gullible investor! Avoid this machine if you value your money. If you still want the machine, go ahead and get the money together for it, and then just burn it. You’ll save yourself 3-4 years worth of hassle.

Nooooooooooooooo
Mind Fund is proud to back Entrepreneur Jonathan Buford who after over a year of hard design and engineering work with his team have launched the Apparatus Arc at a global trade show in Hong Kong today.
For as long as I have known him, and through some very tough trials and tribulations, Jon has dreamed of making an elegantly beautiful, affordable, portable and intelligent 3D printer.
It’s just a start but it sure looks like Jon is one step closer to making his dream a reality for all of us!
Good job Jon and team and good luck with your onward journey to bring the Apparatus Arc to the world!! http://apparatus3d.com
That looks like a plastic Printrbot Play! But as a guy who has learned from mistakes and some experience, I wouldn’t disqualify him. The character of a man does inform buyers though and potentially his poor track record will make it an uphill battle. His history is totally inside baseball though. Average consumers won’t know a thing. It’s still the wild, Wild West here.
@Jeff_DeMaagd In the background on the facebook picture and in his twitter avatar there seems to be at least one physical version of it.
Working or not is another matter. If it’s working at all, it probably isn’t working very well (at least assuming he’s using PLA without a cooling fan).
I just messaged the guy that posted this on facebook with a gigantic chapter-long saga of @Jonathan_Buford 's escapades. While not a direct victim of his shady practices, I wanted to make sure this guy knew full well what he was getting himself into.
I dug up my Makibox order number (which is probably meaningless since they changed them all after I ordered) and signed up with my email, too. Color me skeptical, but I suspect this might simply be a way of harvesting email addresses to sell. I lost $336 on the Makibox ($300+$36 shipping). IF I get a free 3D printer from them (not holding my breath), then I’ll adjust my attitude on this whole debacle to the positive side (I’m a forgiving person), and I’ll even buy filament from them–after I receive my free 3D printer. I will NOT be buying anything from them, including a reduced price model, upgraded model, or anything else, until and unless I get a free 3D printer from them. As I said above, Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I will. If I get compensated for my loss I will be the first one trumpeting their apology. But words are cheap. Let’s wait and see what actually happens in the physical world.
