I did some cable management… And out of the sudden the lcd shows this…

I already tried swaping and rotating cables… Reflash mailin… And even tried on a different mks board…

The funny thing is that on second board it worked fine ONCE… Then it showed the squares as well.

Also… Worth mentioning that I’m printing files from sdcard using Octopi…

The question will be… How often you see a smatcontroller broken?

Any other ideas to troubleshoot?

Press the reset Button on the Display, this might work

It didn’t help either… I already order a replacement.

It’s most likely offset in one direction, meaning two of the pins are out. I did this once accidentally.

ok so you recommend to check solders i assume??

Can you post a picture of the wiring?

sure.
I’ll do as soon as i get home.

is it odd that the controller breaks?

It doesn’t look broken, just connected incorrectly.

Have you checked this isn’t something silly like the contrast got turned all the way up?

Yes… I’ve played with the contrast pot.

Please mind that it was working… I got this error while installing the board on a new case and cable managing…

Libraries should be there… It was working

When doing “cable management” to make things “look good” always remember the cable management rules.

  1. if it works don’t F with it.
  2. Never run signal wires with power wires.

Well…
My old Mks base got 2 drivers broken… Mks gen is bigger… So I was seting it up on an enclosure.

Im betting on broken module as it is not working on a second board… But I understand it is difficult to break.

Swap the cables?

yes… as in conect the one who was on Exp1 in exp2 and viceversa…

also rotate them… (the end that where on the mks to the smartcontroller and viceversa)

Been there, done that. I mark all of my connectors now.

@Keith_Applegarth The funny thing is… i can see sd card files and print them using octopi… so cables are ok.

Won’t hurt to try it…

Try what?

Swap the connectors…
