I don’t get it…the taulman 618 compared to local hardware store trimmer line, the trimmer line excels in every way, with better visual transparency, less popping on extrusion (after a full day dehydration together with the taulman), better mechanical properties, I tested on four different printers and the results are the same…one question in mind, is my taulman fake?

what brand/product name of trimmer line?

Probably too much moisture.

Tell us more about this trimmer line…

Where did you buy your Taulman?

Trimmer line is nylon usually

My trimmer line is ace hardware brand (not much info on it) 0.065’ sells for cheaply $2/40feet but with good consistent diameter(you’d have to dry it in an oven @1hour for on 100c), the taulman 618 is a local reseller, dehydration might not be a factor since my filament is enclosed in a plastic box filled with dessicants, goes straight to the extruder to avoid moisture

Try clipping a piece and seeing if it floats in water. If I remember a previous dialog, nylon sinks, but another material, polypropylene used for trimmer lines, floats.

@Eric_Davies Thank you, terrific suggestion, I’ll try it

Thank you all for the replies, my Taulman is infact original, but somehow the moisture content is more than 30% or so (sampling of one meter each spool) after drying it on adequate machine, it prints smoothly, and better layer bonding (than trimmer line), I machined the nozzle according to taulman suggestions with domed top nozzle
