I don't know why but for some reason no matter what I do I

I don’t know why but for some reason no matter what I do I just never can get the blue 1.75mm makerbot abs to print well sometimes diffrent colors might need some settings tweaked here or there but I’ve just never really been able to nail it down with this blue for some reason idk maybe my machine just doesn’t like blue but I’ll get it down one of these days

What temp do you run your bed at? I had a batch of makerbot Natural early on that wouldn’t stick in my ToM unless the bed was set to 120 (and at that temp it doesn’t release until the bed hits 70).

I usually run mine around 105-110 but that’s not even really the problem i just feel like it extrudes sloppy almost like its getting air bubbles or something i don’t know but i make it work it just always gives me trouble

I was reading recently about keeping your filament dry… even storing it wrapped up with desiccant to make sure it stays dry. Not sure how much of an issue it really is, but this sounds similar to a problem they said you could have if your filament is exposed to too much moisture/humidity.

The water inside humidified (wetter) filament will boil when heated causing tiny “pops”. Some people even see little puffs of steam.

Would that cause what @jarrett_nichols mentioned, though? “extrudes sloppy almost like its getting air bubbles or something”? I have no idea… I just thought it sounded like it could possibly be related and was at least something to try (drying it out real good) next time he used the blue that was giving him the trouble.

yes wet filament gets steam bubbles - so exactly like air bubbles.

well I store all my filament in the same place and none of the other colors give me trouble but lets say that the filament did absorb some water what could you do about it other than get a new spool or deal with it. Is there any method of drying out filament that anyone knows of ?
