I don’t use my heated bed at all, so I decided to disconnect it entirely and bridge the thermistor pins with a random resistor (not doing so causes the hot end to not read its temperature in the firmware). Just so happened that ls the temperature it gives at that resistance (I think it was 3KΩ).

It’s the display from my printer.
it’s strange that hot-end didn’t read tempratures without heatbed connected. I’ve printed with and without heatbed connected, didn’t notice any problems.
For example Printrbot Simple in orriginal package doesn’t have heated bet and runs fine.
Maybe try reflashing firmware.
@Fricis_Pirtnieks I put the resistor in for the explicit reason that I’m too lazy to reflash the firmware lol
