I downloaded CNCJS today, and I am very impressed with it. It can control GRBL,Smoothie and TinyG boards. You can get it at https://github.com/cncjs/cncjs/wiki
I’m still only just starting with it myself, but I have been very happy with it. Installing it was a breeze, and it mostly just plain works. Good UI, too, IMHO.
I love that you can dock and undock the portions of the interface that you need or don’t need.
Have you used Chilipeppr? How do you think CNCJS compares?
No, I have not used Chilipepper.
I have used Chilippeppr. I prefer CNC.JS.
It is possible to easily adapt PS3 (or any other) controller as cnc pendant - I did a short test here: https://youtu.be/wrQ1q-pWM14
Chilipeppr has lot more widgets thus wider functionality as well as Eagle support. On the other hand http://cnc.js can be used offline, allows selective widgets display and has webcam support. I will use both, depending on my current needs. I’m sure that Chilipeppr offline application would rock and make many hobbyists happy.
Tried it and like it. I seems to be able to load a file only if there is a port open. It opens larger files than Chilipeppr but it barfs at the sizes I need (40+meg). I am going to try some tests but It’s a bit limiting to have to be physically connected. I hope there is something obvious I am missing. I like having a good offline tool and some clients will definitely like it but memory is still and issue and that is odd to me that both programs barf very inelegantly loading files that are so tiny compared to the size of memory in computers these days. I guess so few are doing 3d that it has little to do with what most are doing with these tools.
