I extended the height of my by 30mm so I can put a 750w

I extended the height of my #mendelmax by 30mm so I can put a 750w PC PSU underneath. More power, less fan noise and I will be able to have the printer in stand by mode and remotely turn it on and print anything on a whim from anywhere using #Octoprint.

Beefy PSU. Where’s it from?

Always like seeing other MendleMax’s! I’ve seen bigger feet on Thingiverse but worried about wobble, I guess the bottom plate would stop that!

I use an ATX PSU with RPI powered from 5VSB, did you put a relay across the PSON and GND?

An ultra PC PSU with 12v single rail @ 45a

@Liam_Jackson these are taller than the ones on thingiverse. I just added an extra 30mm to the model. I thought it would be wobbly also but the way the bottom piece is put in it makes it extra rigid. Why do I need a relay across PS_on and gnd? I did a dry run turning the PSU on and off and it worked just fine. Will that cause an issue?

What’s up

Sorry I thought you meant remotely turn on the power supply, that’s what I’m going for!

I am doing remote turn on also. I will be running 5v standby to the arduino and raspberry pi.
