I finished printing and mostly cleaning up the support material from the 3 piece chassis plate. Here are some photos of what the finished first version look like. It is very stable all by itself, however I have designed the side guards to create even more support. I am working on the first try at printing the sides now. If all works, this project will be available to even more people. Thank you for such a great platform to work from!
Just added the 2 piece left side shield to this, and I have to say… who needs bolts? the force from the joints on the chassis plate hold the whole assembly together very nicely. It goes without saying that trying to drive it without using bolts would be silly. I just have to do some small changes to allow for easier assembly after printing. But I’m happy overall. I will add the sides and photos as soon as they are done.
