I finished the Nema17 upgrade for the MicroCube. All files are available at Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1938877). Test print came out beautifully.
Love it, the idea is genial!
Thank you very much
@Benjamin_Deiss this looks great! I’m building a Prusa i3 at the moment for my first build, but would love to build something like this one too!
I love the diagonal brace on the sides. The backside could use bigger corner pieces for stability.
@Craig_Hissett maybe you could create a MicroCube once your Prusa is finished
@NathanielStenzel since it was initially planned for the slow 28BYJ-48 steppers and at a small size, the frame was stable enough with the small corners. Later when I added the Nema17 motors, I had to add more stability, since I wanted to keep it modular, I decided to use the diagonal rods over extended corners, it’s also easier to add them instead of exchanging the corners. Due to the small size it’s pretty rigid. Only the bed itself could be more stable
@Benjamin_Deiss ah. Okay. Never mind me, I obsess over corner strength for some odd reason.
@NathanielStenzel strong corners result in a rigid structure. For a bigger size it would definitely need a longer guide.
