I found this old article and just wonder if anyone tried something like this with a FDM-printer and some special material.

Do you know about a material that would work like a light.pipe when extruded either as a single extruded cylinder pipe, or a molded together piece of material.
Anyone tested or could test a transparent material he or she owns to light up with a LED.
That may would be interesting to other too?
If you like please share the material you tried and the result, even if it is at least semi transparent and wouldn’t work would help to figure out what we got.

@Markus_Osmers_mo22 @Hannes_Lilliefeldt Yes, you can see here at the bottom of this page. Clear t-glase only and it’s been done by several of our customers. While it does take some planning, the results are excellent when the material ends are cut properly.
