I got a little bored after BM this year so I installed 55 meters of 2812’s in my Sumac tree out front. This is the tree running Daniel Wilsons Bouncy Balls code… Thanks for the code Daniel! (sorry for the shaky start)

WOW!
Gorgeous installation! Seriously.

(It’s well known that I have a thing for trees+LEDs, too…)

Thanks Mark! Here is one more when it’s completely dark out.

Equally amazing.

Got special plans for Halloween?!?

That’s really impressive. Well done.

That is wonderful!!

If I was your neighbor I would just stare out the window all night. So awesome!

Great combination of an organic shape and led lights! Really good.

Fantastic!

Wow… my personal favorite implementation of the fastled lib. As Stefan was saying a great combination of tree and leds. Is the code available ?
Currious how the fire effect would look on the tree…

That is awesome!

Thanks everyone! I’m just starting to learn all this so this community has been amazing! Thanks for sharing your code and your knowledge because it has been extremely helpful in being able to figure things out! )’(

I’ll post some more videos with different code samples running. Just HW spec wise I installed 11 5 meter WS28211b waterproof strips in the tree. Each strip is fed by its own 18-2 5v power lead. I soldered 2.1 bullet connectors to each strip for easy disconnect and single pin disconnects for signal/ ground. The lights are powered from a distribution board in my garage consisting of 4-5volt 70amp power supplies and one 54amp 12 volt for the other lighting around the house. The tree is both on a remote control and a timer. I can upload to the Arduino UNO via a USB connection inside my house. Once again thank you guys!

Big time eye candy!

Great job here! Do you share any of your code? I am interested in this animation and how it was done.

@David_Anthony_DA This community has a “code samples” area on the left toolbar. Look there for more free code. Here is what you are looking for: https://plus.google.com/105445034001275025240/posts/hXVzRnMES8J

@Jon_Burroughs I will check it out thank you!
