I got about 40 of these bearings, didn’t pay attention to where they came from (China) since it was serviced by Amazon locally. Only 9 work well, the others are garbage.

A 10-pack of Chinese LL8UU bearings is about 5€, a single SKF bearing comes in at around 6€. Of course, the SKF is made to much better tolerances, but the Chinese ones are often good enough, and usually no more than one or two (out of ten) is unusable. Either version needs proper linear rails to work decently.
Rule of thumb: If the seller doesn’t advertise a specific, well-know brand, you will get Chinese ones.
And price is no indication of quality.
FWIW, you might take a few of the less crappy ones and throw them into service anyway…us a good lubricant and bed them in well. One of my lessons learned was that the noise I was having wasn’t linear bearings, it was pullies, but in the meantime, the second tier linear bearings ended up bedding in just fine.

For what its worth I use igus bushings and have never even considered switching to bearings.

The problem is maybe the balls are falling from the bearings. You should put carefully in the rod.
