I got tired of watching the red, green, and blue test pattern over and over and over again so I decided to have some fun with my MSGEQ7 stereo shield. Since YouTube (and Google) doesn’t like it when you use copyrighted material, I used one of my generic tracks for the music. These are six 24-pixel strips. Lower frequencies are at the bottom and higher at the top. I’m only reading buckets 0-5 from the MSGEQ7 mainly because I didn’t have a 7th strip handy but also because that frequency has very little on it. The first 30 seconds is a regular left and right channel representation with a cycling hue. Next 30 seconds is a single channel (left) displayed over a green-to-red gradient. And finally, the next 30 seconds is @Mark_Kriegsman 's Flame2012 function with the output of the MSGEQ7 overlayed. Kinda funky on that one. Oh hey @Jon_Burroughs , these are your strips by the way.

(Video permission problem? Won’t play here…)
Errr, shouldn’t have any permissions on it. And I just loaded it from a different network all together (not logged in) and it played.
“Watch this video of YouTube. Playback of m on other websites has been disabled by the video owner.”
(Viewing from G+ client app on iOS. I’ll try a computer next.)
The video was not uploaded to G+. It was uploaded to YouTube, then linked back here.
So it should take you to YouTube.
I don’t like uploading videos to G+ because 80% of the time it gets stuck on processing it, or G+ likes to tell me they know better and the video requires auto-enhancement which always screws it up.
I added the link to the original post, see if that helps.
Link works great-- and I like the layering!
Oh good. I was ready to rip YouTube a new one.
I wonder what it would look like with the output overlayed on some noise … hrm. Need to figure out how to make that work since each string is an individual controller right now and they’re all sharing the same color information (which is why for the Fire2012 one they all look the same.)
Thanks for testing them out for me!
Part of QC buddy. I just got tired of watching the room light up red, green, blue at full power for hours on end … You can’t look AT them, so yeah. Had to do something else with them.
