I happened to install the latest #Sketchup 13… something today and it seems it runs as Pro for a limited time to get you hooked on the Pro features. I must say that the pro boolean tools really makes Sketchup so much more usable! Feels alot more like OpenSCAD. (Fiddling around with intersect in the free version just isn’t my idea of a fun and fluent process.)

I don’t have the budget to pay for the Pro version so I searched around for free/less pricey boolean plugins, and after trying out a promising one that simply did not work in versions later than 8 I stumbled upon #BoolTools ;

(I am not affiliated with them in any way)

$10 for a plugin that does union, difference and subtract. It’s not open source but that’s something I can live with :slight_smile:

FYI, @korpx , there is a free non-open source product called Hexagon 1.5 that has solid-operations and face-based meshing. Requires getting on their mailing list, where they will try to sell you 3d models.

@Howard_C_Shaw_III nice! Sounds like it’s stand alone and not related to Sketchup. Can’t find much from a quick search. Got a link or more info to go on?

I am starting to feel happy about my set of plugins to Sketchup. Now I actually find it useful for full feathered designs and not just drafting/layouting before doing the “real” design in OpenSCAD.

My most useful current plugins;
