I have a club of 2nd through 4th graders and I’m looking for a group project. There are 15 students. They have experience with TinkerCad. Any ideas of what we could all build together?

A domino track

how about a trebuchet? You could easily enough download someone else’s work, but that removes a good bit of the accomplishment. The download could serve as a design model for the students to begin their own construction. There’s a laser cut plywood version that could be adapted by the students to TinkerCad and 3d printing perhaps.

idk

I think this is the coolest thing on thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:913528 <-- they would have fun building that. Watch the video

Not sure what but how about they each print something that comes together to make one bigger thing.

I use the book by MyeongSu Kim, Very Easy 3d modelling workbook, when working with kids and 3d printing. It uses Tinkercad and has been a great way to introduce modelling and printing to eager young minds.

Chris, would you clarify your objective? Are you seeking suggestions for projects which involve designing a model with a specific objective? I expect that you don’t simply want someone else’s models to be printed as the main goal, do you?

Maybe design your own type of LEGO blocks?? Or a board game you all can play, Including the boards. etc

The Lego blocks is a good idea. Try to do something where they all make a part and it gets assembled. It could be fulfilling to see their part be in use

Build a bridge, must include all types of construction connection types, must span over [let’s say] 6 foot, and divide the bridge into 15 parts and get each kid to design each part, it’ll promote collab/teamwork.
