I have a question about using inkscape… I sure hope someone can help!
I’m playing with some drawings of RC planes, and I lines that I want to cut, and others I want to just score. I’ve got the cuts and scores in different layers, so it should be easy to use in LW… but I’d really like to link the various objects so that if I move, say, a wing part, the scoring moves with the outline. I’m not clear if this is possible. Looks like inkscape couldn’t do it 5 years ago, but that’s a long time in open source years.
Hmm it could be neat to have an option in LaserWeb to link certain layers so that a single offset could apply to all the linked layers simultaneously. for “group positioning” within LaserWeb
Inkscape implements layers internally using groups, so if you take several shapes that are on different layers and group them together, Inkscape collapses them into a single layer. I’m not sure how it chooses the layer, but it doesn’t really matter. Once they’re grouped, you also can’t split them across layers without ungrouping them. Oh well, I guess I am trying to use inkscape as a CAD…
