I have been dual head printing for about 2 weeks now. This entire machine has been inspired by the works of many others, most notably the BerryBot3D. I always wanted to take it to the next level and try PVA and possibly NinjaFlex along with ABS or PLA. This effector is designed for 3 hot ends and should allow all of the different experiments that I wanted to do.

Ninjaflex is going to be quite a challenge. I have heard about people using bowden tubes with it by disabling retraction, but it still seems like problems will exist. The real solution to that may be something like those extruder pens that have everything internal and still be small enough to easily hold.

I’ve had pretty good success with 3 mm Ninjaflex in my delta. I have one 3 mm extruder and one 1.75 mm extruder. The whole idea was to be able to print Ninjaflex in multimaterial prints with ABS. I’m still figuring out the offsets, and haven’t yet made a good multimaterial print, but I’m close!

I’m using a 5:1 geared stepper to direct drive the Ninjaflex. I can go 30 mm/sec. I have a flying extruder setup, and my PTFE Bowden tubes are about 16" long. Nice work so far!
