I have just discovered the existence of anti-backlash devices.
Has anyone used them on any RepRap printer for Z-Axes ?

Antibacklash shouldn’t be necessary on the Z axis. If everything is free to move, gravity will hold the axis on one side of the thread form. Early Mendels had a spring trapped between two nuts to serve as antibacklash, but it turned out not to be necessary.
Anti-backlash nuts are used mainly for X and Y lead screws which are less popular in 3d printing due to the low speed. X and Y lead screws are used alot more in CNC milling. A 3d printer is not expected to do rapid up and down of the Z access unless it is doing it for filament retraction where backlash probably won’t matter. (disclaimer: I am a newb who has to calibrate his machine…but I do research alot)
