I have LW4 running with an EleksLaser 2.5 watt PWM Diode unit on GRBL 1.1f

Engraving and cutting are working fine, I’ve got my steps per mm tuned so it’s cutting things at the right size.

My only problem is that the laser is being left on during move operations, causing thin cut marks on the work object being engraved.
I’m sure it’s something very simple I’ve missed, does anyone have any ideas?

I think I’ve solved my own problem  $32 was set to 0, so the machine was leaving the laser enabled assuming it was a rotary tool!

Hi. I have the same laser running 1.1e. My problem is that I cant set home position in laserweb. Can you share your settings ? Also can you stop the jogging screen moving around the laser dot on a job ? How to make the preview still and the dot moving as the cut ?

The jogging screen is to do with the printer’s reporting settings $10=0 will fix that hopefully
I’ll post my full settings when I get on the computer for you

My settings are as follows - the acceleration and max speed settings are taken from the settings configured by the EleksMaker software which runs Grbl 0.9j so they’re as close as I can get it to “Stock” but running with Laserweb.
Note I have $3=2 for an inverted axis as for some reason best known to itself one of my axis is reversed in hardware despite building it to the instructions!

Thanks a lot man!
I had inverted X as well =] I now placed the stepper and belt below the rail and its fixed this way.

So you’ll want $3=0 for yours I think then?

Yes correct… I ll update to 1.1f and test the settings later on. Anyhow the difference is huge from elekslaser software !

Certainly won’t be going back!!
