I have trouble getting Taulman Nylon 618 to stick on anything.

I have trouble getting Taulman Nylon 618 to stick on anything.
So far i tried
PEI, PET, Alu+ water/glue, Wood
The wood held on for 5 minutes, everything else just did not stick at all
Does anyone have experience with this?
#nylon #taulman #618

I have printed with 645 and it stuck very well to the ultimaker blue tape.

Sadly the blue tape is not generally available here in germany, i don’t have it.

@Bjorn_Marl available at Voelkner

@Bjorn_Marl i print on a glass bed with one layer of glue from a gluestick (like prit stift in Germany). It sticks very well and is worth a try. A heated bed at 40-50 degree will make it even better!

@foosel Thanks, expensive, but i’ll try it.
@Nico_Neumann Is that different to the Wood Glue/Water mixture? I’ll try it.

Try printing on the ‘non’ copper side of a pcb. Make sure you sand off the top so you have no shiny epoxy surface, but a rough sanded surface.

@Bjorn_Marl i also tried the wood glue + water 1:4. But glue Stick is a better league

@Bjorn_Marl

Sorry for the German guys. But I have some headache and it’s hard for me to write everything in English :wink:

@Nico_Neumann I’ll try it
@Sven_Eric_Nielsen ABS ist kein Problem, das macht die Dauerdruckplatte ganz sauber. Nylon verhält sich ganz anders als ABS oder PLA.

I’ve printed on mansonite board, which is usually called “clipboard”. I’m sure you can find it on amazon or any stationary shop. It sticks well, although nylon prints take some fibres off from the board. It’s not expensive, might worth to try.

@Bjorn_Marl See if you can get a hold of a piece of Garolite, it does the trick!

Tried unscented hairspray it’s worked a champ for me.

@Bjorn_Marl Es ging mir ja auch nicht speziell ums ABS sondern darum das sich in meinen Augen das Kreppband als gute Alternative zum blauen bewiesen hat und die Beschaffungsprobleme damit aus der Welt sind :wink:

If you can not obtain garolite(le), we suggest 3M 855 nylon hi temp tape. Place on a heated platform at 60C-80C. 3M 855 is a very smooth, high strength tape and usually comes in 25mm width. Some of our users report the ability to get 10 or more prints prior to replacement. 855 is very stable and sticks well even at the elevated bed temp. While the garolite is best for adhesion, it does have a rather rough surface as compared to glass. 855 is extremely smooth on the print surface.

Can anyone let a european link to buy this tape or garolite Cud be very helpfull!!!

@Nacho_Teres I found the 855 on offer here http://www.shopdepot24.de/forsale/product_info.php?info=p12724_3M--8482--Scotch--8482--855-Nylon--PA--Klebeband-hochtemperaturbestaendig-25-4-mm.html

@Daniel_Noree , where do you buy Garolite in Sweden?

@Peter_Parnes http://fermprodukter.se/?page_id=848

Is it the same thing as “vävbakelit” (in Swedish)?
