I just extruded some plastic and ive measured it 0.55 mm, my nozzle is supposed to be a 0.4
Does the nozzle expand over time, i started with pla, and now gone to abs…??

Hi Christian,
The thinness of the extruded plastic can vary. It can have various sizes depending on settings like speed, temperature and layer resolution. If you need any more help don’t hesitate to contact us directly at http://support.ultimaker.com!
What you have there is an phenomenon called die swell.

Practically, it may have no impact on your prints as (from a volumetric perspective) the same volume of plastic entered the die as exited it, if you think it is having an effect. Print a single perimeter cube (set wall thickness to 0.4) with no infill and measure the wall thickness towards the top of the part. Then compare this to the perimeter wall thickness Cura thinks it’s producing (this is detailed somewhere in the gcode) if there’s a significant delta between the 2, divide the expected value by the measured value, multiply the result by 100 and use this value as your flow multiplier in Cura.
