I just finished printing my new chassis design out of ABS. It came our very nice, with almost no warping. I think I’m over extruding a little, giving a top surface a rough finish - but that’s better than potential gaps from under extrusion.
very nice! im impressed thats quite a thin part with a large surface area, that would have warped into a U shape on my printer. what you runnin your heated bed at? and is that straight on clean glass?
I’m running my heated bed at 100c, plus I built a custom enclosed build chamber. It sits at around 40c inside the chamber. Check this out for more of an explanation: http://www.tysonmessori.org/EngineeringProjects/3d-printer
Also, I use aquanet hair spray to help with bed adhesion.
quality, i bet the enclosure helps no end!
lovely looking printer well done!
I was planning to make a one piece design.
Have you shared the models?
I haven’t shared the models yet because I’m still in the process of testing them. I’ve printed about 2/3 of the parts now and should receive the metal parts from all the various sources within 3 weeks.
