I just got a Printrbot Metal plus and I’m having trouble with my print quality.
I’m useing slicer and I have all ready tightened my belts, and calibrated my exstruders steps per mm.
My hot end is set at 210 c for pla and my bed temp at 70 c , any help on resolving these print issues would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I know you’ve said you tightened your belts, but have you checked the pulley set screws? This looks kind of random, which is usually indicative of something slipping - I’d look there first.
Make sure you go through this process as well: http://reprap.org/wiki/Triffid_Hunter's_Calibration_Guide
210 seems a little hot for PLA, try 200 and maybe 55 - 60 for bed temp, can always print first layer slightly hotter if you have adhesion problems
Thank you I will take a look at them
Thanks guys it was the pulley set screw. I really appreciate the help.
I do 200 for PLA if you go down to 185 the filament will get really brital
Its very dependant on the filament, it can even vary from roll to roll. I have had PLA work anywhere between 175 and 225, just have to tune it for each batch.
That is how printrbot is some of there filament works and the rest doesn’t it is all a guessing game
I think your filament is not feeding well. The reel gets kinks in it as wraps cover over other wraps. Check for drive wheel on the extruder, the grooves get clogged with plastic. Lastly I would make sure the nozzle is not clogged. I have a Flashforge, its like a makerbot.
Just wondering if you guys locktite those set screws ?
Don’t because then you will have to get new parts if the stew is not tight enough
Oh ok thanks
